River of Golden Dreams VR Experience
You’re in a canoe, plying the waters of Alta Lake to the mouth of the River of Golden Dreams. As you enter the waterway you hear birdsong and giant lilypads float along the shoreline. The wetland’s lush greenery almost makes a tunnel in some sections and then you break out to incredible views of the mountains, still shouldering some of their winter white coats of snow, despite the steady summer sun. Canoeing is Whistler’s original recreational past time; as long as 100 years ago tourists were traveling to Alta Lake to paddle and fish for trout with legendary guides and Whistler pioneers Myrtle and Alex Philip.
